Sunday Story: A Get-together To Remember

This is different story, not the usual kind, but has the elements to make it an interesting one for all the friends involved.

It was a get-together of school friends. The strange part is that though was meeting some for the first time, having no recollection from school days, never for a moment felt that I did not know any of them. Felt an instant bond and closeness. Here were friends that one could relate and connect to as our very own. The sense of camaraderie was unique. In no other group you can have such pure fun, pull one another's leg and still get away with it.

Couldn't help thinking what a delightful mix of people we were from such diverse fields. But the great thing was we connected at a common level and our work or position did not come in the way. This is unlike other groups, where it is a battle of one-upmanship.

For a person who writes, he is an observer of people and makes a mental note of people he meets. I couldn't help registering my first impressions during the get-together and I am hazarding putting them down here. I know I run a risk, as I may be wrong or worse, I missed an obvious trait that you would like to be known for. Apologies for that in advance and hope it is taken in the right, friendly spirit:

Ameet - Sage and gracious

Percy - Intellectual, backed by a breezy humour

Hormazd - A Parsi all over with an irreverent humour with which he can get away with anything

Himanshu - A gentle soul, kind and considerate

Sunil - An engaging manner of talking, intelligent

Nitin - A positive person, thoughtful and well meaning

Samir Naik: Great company, knowlegeable, enjoy talking to

Sameer Shah - Perfect, precise

Robby - A particularly warm person, excellent host, thoughtful, caring, kind

Edmund - Smart and ebullient

Amjad - Mature, gracious, still maintaing his handsome, boyish looks

Alex - Tall, stately and a towering presence

Uday - Carries  the aura of a star celebrity

Deepak - Calm, collected

Mahesh - Involved, in the midst of things with his witty comments

Mario - A gentle soul with a strong social conscience

Nozer - Great to talk to and a  pleasant personality

Christopher - Smart, focused

Keki - Silent, but a weighty silence showing depth

Charles - Aware, knows his subject matter

Shiv - Engaging, warm personality, great company

Manoj - Intelligent and knowledgeable

Rajesh - Unusual sense of humour, fun talking to

Dev - Bubbly and vivacious

Missed those who could not come. But there will be definitely more opportunities to meet.

No story ends without a moral. I would say, the moral is that such get-togethers are therapeutic, a must to reset yourself to what you are.
